My thoughts are that May is the best month in the valley. The weather varies; sometimes spring like, often quite summery, sometimes cold and wet but no matter what the weather, the Calder Valley looks its best this time of year. The trees are usually all in leaf by now, the blossom at the start of the month is beautiful and the hills are full of lush green vegetation. If you don’t fall in love with the Calder Valley in May, you probably never will.
So if you are looking to sell a property – this is the month you really need to review your marketing. There are a good 8 -10 weeks before summer holidays kick in, a time when we see the market often slackens off. It is important to review your asking price now, re-take any photos that were taken earlier in the year and look to re-fresh your marketing in general if things are a little stale. I know I always have a hit-list of homes to revisit during May, although with our unpredictable weather it is often hard to plan!
